<p><strong><em>Chris Keulemans</em></strong> confirmed for <strong>RAUw</strong>!</p>
<p>(1960, initiatiefnemer en artistiek directeur Tolhuistuin)Tot aan de Tolhuistuin was Chris Keulemans schrijver en journalist. Hij publiceerde zowel fictie als non-fictie en is bovendien een gepassioneerd verhalenverteller. In 2004 publiceerde hij het vierluik &#8216;De Amerikaan die ik nooit geweest ben&#8217; bestaande uit een roman, website, dvd en radiodocumentaire. Eerder opende hij boekwinkeltje annex poëzietheater Perdu aan de Kloveniersburgwal (1984) en was bovendien werkzaam als programmamaker bij De Balie, waar hij van 1995 tot 1999 directeur was. Als radar in een netwerk was Chris medeverantwoordelijk voor de oprichting van het Rushdie Comité en Press Now, dat zich tot op de dag van vandaag inzet voor onafhankelijke media. Na een periode van reizen en schrijven werkte hij aan een boek over kunst na crisis met verhalen uit Sarajevo, Beirut, New York, Algiers en Jakarta. Hij raakte gefascineerd door de manier waarop kunstenaars hun werk, hun stad en hun leven opnieuw ontdekken na een periode van oorlof of dictatorschap. Zijn meest recente project is de Tolhuistuin, de culturele vrijplaats in Noord, waar hij het brein achter is en sinds 2009 de artistiek directeur.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We are proud to announce the kick off of the final stage of <strong>RAUw</strong>!</p>
<p>On Thursday the 3rd of November 2011, Zoey Foundation for Arts and Culture will start the final phase of the project <strong>RAUw</strong>. About 12 participants will come together for the first time, at the Tolhuistuin Amsterdam Noord, among Zoey partner’s, students and speakers.</p>
<p>There will be a round of introductions, in which every person will have a chance to say something about their selves and the motivation for taking part at this project.</p>
<p>Katerina Pejoska will say a few words about the history of RAUw and we will discuss the current project strategy.</p>
<p>Danny Andreas, leader of Taalbraakers project, will share his experience of the last 3 years of being a culture scout for Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst in Amsterdam Noord.</p>
<p>We will close the night with the performance by the young Taalbraaker and we will also share, in a pleasant atmosphere, a nice dinner together.</p>

<p><em>Sander Epema</em> is born and raised in Amsterdam. Besides his studies Business Administration and Biology he has been an active member of several student associations. During his studies he worked for a successful Internet bank, and now he works for a large Dutch asset manager. Besides work he is studying again, he follows innovations in sustainability, science and technology and he loves football and music.</p>

Designed for students, alumni and young professionals and youth from ‘Vogelaars’ districts in Utrecht and Amsterdam this project gives an opportunity to take part in a unique lab for development of instruments and products for personal growth and youth empowerment. A once a week evening meeting will take place over the period of 7 weeks with 7 very diverse and highly engaging speakers. These empowerment sessions will also include a comunal cooking. This way youth and students will get an informal chance to peek into each other&#8217;s, all-so-different lives.</span></em></span></span></div>
