Urban Resonances brought Dutch composers/music technologists to Macedonia for 5 concerts and 4 Master Classes in 4 different cities. This is the second realized project as a result of my research and is a step further in connecting the two cultures, the Dutch and the Macedonian in the field of performing arts.
Urban Resonances stands for series of workshops and concerts that took place on different venues in Macedonia, in the period between 14-18 december. The concerts were a cooperation between Dutch composers and Macedonian musicians, offering presentations of electroacoustic compositions, live electronics as well as compositions for music and video. The partner in The Netherlands was Utrecht School of Music and Technology, where most of the composers also teach. During the project they organized the Master Classes.
Urban Resonances is a part of the long-term programme for development cooperation between The Netherlands and Macedonia in the field of Music and Technology. The programme is being carried out by Zoey Foundation for Arts and Culture and Public Room together with a great number of partners in both countries. This programme was written by Katerina Pejoska, based on an concept and idea that was developed in cooperation with Aleksandra Popovska, Boban Bajic and few other artists. The research for this programme was supported by the European Cultural Foundation.
Four workshops and concerts of contemporary Dutch electroacoustic music, live electronics with acoustic instruments and video as well as compositions for music and video.
