In October 2009, Zoey sent three Dutch participants to Skopje to participate in a PR and Communication course organized by Public Room and the European Alliance. The training, which brought together a group of young people from four different European countries (Macedonia, France, the Netherlands and Italy), was supported by the Youth in Action programme of the European Union. Soon the participants of the training found out that they had a lot in common and they wanted to express this feeling of unity. After two days of training they came up with an initiative of their own – ‘Kolours’ – that would make their training experience more real and that would allow them to make a positive impact in Skopje. With a piece of jointly designed graffiti art, they wanted to leave something behind that would visualize their experience as a European team. The group generated a lot of media attention with their graffiti project, which was broadcasted the same evening on Macedonian national television, making it an hands-on learning experience for all of them.
